Singapore and Asian School Math Olympiad
SASMO is a math olympiad contest that stretches not only the brightest students but is aimed at instilling confidence for all students.
The contest is designed in a way to make every student love Math again. SASMO contest fits nicely into the school curriculum with a high focus on non routine problem sums – preparing for SASMO contest helps students prepare for the PSLE and O-Level exams.
American Mathematics Olympiads
American Mathematics Olympiad (AMO) is now open to all students globally as we have partnered with Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, USA to create a competition that offers scholarships to study in America. With SIMCC and Scholastic Trust Singapore (STS) endowing US$270,000 to fund two full scholarships at SIU, the university has matched our generosity by awarding us with unlimited SIU International Student Tuition Grants. This tuition grant is
a type of scholarship award, which we can bestow upon our International Junior Honor Society (IJHS) members. This grant will potentially save an international student US$14,000 annually in tuition fees, as the foreign student will be paying Illinois in-state tuition instead of international student tuition of US$28,000 annually, a potential savings of US$56,000 over 4 years.
Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge
Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC) is a unique concept of mathematics competition which not only tests your ability to solve mathematical problems on pen and paper but also tests your ability to work as a team to play interactive mathematical games and solve puzzles. SIMOC gives you an opportunity to compete with top mathematical talents from around the world and learn from each other as a team. Individual and team recognition awards are up for grabs.
SIMOC consists of three categories:
Math Olympiad Contest for grades 1 to 12 (Primary 2 to Junior College 2)
Maths Warriors Competition (team based)
Mind Sports Challenge (team based)
International Junior Math Olympiad
The International Junior Math Olympiad (IJMO) is an international mathematics competition which is held annually in different countries across Asia. IJMO is organised by SIMCC in collaboration with the National Math Societies in Asian countries to identify and encourage potential young math talents in every SIMCC participating country. To be eligible for participation in IJMO, only SASMO and AMO Gold and Silver awardees from each country are selected annually to represent their country.
IJMO aims to provide an Asian platform for students to interact and compete against their worthy opponents. IJMO is the ideal platform to showcase every student’s potential and talent in math in the international math competitions arena!
IJMO empowers students with deep conceptual understanding and logical thinking skills beyond Grade-level. This effectively stretches every student’s potential beyond Grade-level, allowing them to better apply much higher level logical and analytical skills to solve challenging Math Olympiad problems. Questions in IJMO are carefully designed to develop every student’s higher level of conceptual understanding and logical thinking skills.
